We are absolutely thrilled with this just-landed Colombian gesha, hailing from a farm connected to past menu star Fabiola Ortega (Higueron, Tabor, Velvet Bliss). Fabiola's daughter Marilin Muñoz produced this coffee, and its ripe peach, grape, and cola flavors are a knockout. We also tasted cranberry, jasmine, and syrupy apricot. Scott brewed a stash of this coffee in Panama at the World of Coffee event, and the reception was wonderful. Our October subscribers received this coffee first, but we couldn't hold it back for long, so now it's available for everyone!
Marilin began producing coffee on her farm 15 years ago, carrying on a long family tradition reaching back to her grandfather. The farm grows numerous varieties of coffee, as well as food crops. The entire family is involved as well, with both of her sons spearheading different aspects of farm activities.
Processing was simple. Ripe cherries were depulped, washed, and dried for 20-25 days.
