This washed lot comes from the Halo Beriti washing station, sourcing cherry from 750 smallholder producers. This lot is a 'special prep' meaning a few things; the number of producers is significantly reduced adding consistency to the coffee, cherries are sorted much more rigorously and in multiple steps in the journey, from cherry to fermentation and drying, and are typically selected from a single daylot.
This creates a very unique and intense expression of flavor, providing depth and a sense of one specific day and time represented through coffee flavor.
I taste:
Intense orange blossom and jasmine aromas apparent from dry aroma through to the final cup. As the coffee breaths, florals make room for intense citrus and sweet malic tones. On the palate, expect sharp but exceptionally sweet lemon curd chased with orange blossom on the aftertaste. As the cup cools, a flavor of green apple and bergamot present with sharp but lingering acity of pineapple. Once cold, the coffee is sweet and jammy like a ripe nectarine and orange marmalade.
