This is our first Ecuadorian coffee of the new harvest season! Abraham Armijos produced this lovely coffee and we expedited its shipping so we could share it with you as fast as possible. We enjoy this coffee's unique mix of ripe crushed grapefruit, tart green grape, and black tea. It's an unusual combo and a very cool coffee.
Abraham is a relatively new producer, having just started in coffee in 2022. Alongside fruit trees, Abraham has just one hectare dedicated to cultivating coffee. After selecting only ripe cherry, the depulped cherry sat in tanks for just 24-hours, followed by a washing and a soaking step. The coffee then dried under a covered greenhouse for up to 17 days.
"Typica mejorado" is an Ecuadorian hybrid between Bourbon and Ethiopian heirloom. Similar to how Ethiopian coffees tend to benefit from a coarser grind, we find the same is true with this coffee.
Process: Washed
Region: Loja, Ecuador
Variety: Typica Mejorado
