We're excited to add this lovely washed caturra to the menu. This coffee is clean, well-fruited, and the best bargain we've been able to offer in a long time. Buenos Aires landed at our warehouse just days after the end of coffee tarrifs, so we narrowly missed the added fees and are able to share the savings with you immediately. Caturra is our favorite undersung variety, and we love this coffee's juicy pomegranate, citrus, and light florals.
Farmer Luis Ángel Mendez operates the farm Buenos Aires with his wife and two sons. He inherited the farm from his father and has been operating for more than 25 years. Through partnership with InConexus, he has improved harvest and post-harvest techniques.
Ripe cherries were density sorted to remove defects and then depulped and fermented in open tanks for 48 hours. After washing, the coffee dried on shaded beds for 18-24 days, turning six times per day.
Process: Washed
Region: Tolima, Colombia
Varieties: Caturra
