Our menu has not been graced by Panama in quite a long time, so we are very happy to share this new coffee with you. This geisha comes from the famed Boquete region from a very new producer, Rob McClure, owner of Finca Nuevo Colorado. This soft, elegant coffee has classic Panamanian flavors of apricot, subtle mango, and earl grey florals.
Rob, local Boulder-area resident, casually visited the roastery for the first time in 2023 with tales of his farm in Panama and his goal to win the Best of Panama some day. After a couple years of sampling, improving processes, and growing harvest yields, Finca Nuevo Colorado finally has just enough for us to share with you! We gave first dibs to our Monthly Subscribers and have just a handful of bags available, rested and ready to ship!
The farm is perched at 1800 meters and receives shade from 100+ foot-tall hardwood trees, which also provide habitat for native birds. Local families work seasonally to pick the cherries,
This classically washed Geisha is an ultra-clean, zero-funk coffee. Rob chose to process this coffee traditionally. His team harvested ripe cherries, depulped, fermented for two days, thoroughly washed, and dried the coffee on raised beds. Subsequent hand sorting further refined the coffee.
We're excited to work with Rob for many years to come!
Process: Washed
