Our second dark roast release, when Alena and I sampled this coffee from Edison Argote grown at Quebraditas in Oporapa, Colombia, we knew immediately that it would be the coffee we chose for our next dark roast release. The advanced natural process and SL28 varietal give this coffee an intense sweetness and acidity that screams cherry, and bringing this to about a minute of roast development brings out a fantastic chocolate note and mellows out the funk. This coffee still earns a 1 out of 5 on the funk scale for its intense fruit presentation. On the finish, this coffee is buttery-smooth, and while we suggest you enjoy this one as espresso (shorter ratios are proving to be fantastic) it is a great comfort roast to enjoy on pour over as well.
