ABOUT THIS COFFEE AND PRODUCER
In the lush green mountains of Huila, Colombia lies the farm “La Lomita,” home to coffee producer Eulises Guzman Serrato. Situated at an altitude of over 1760 meters above sea level, this fertile land has become Eulises’ life’s work, where he cultivates coffee with passion and dedication, learning from the generations of coffee farmers that have come before him.
For this coffee from Eulises, the cherries are first fermented in tanks for 30 hours. Then, they are dried in sheds for 15 days.
WHY WE SELECTED THIS COFFEE
We’re excited to be working with La Lomita for the first time and to share a coffee that truly highlights what makes this producer special. Grown with exceptional care, this Pink Bourbon is a beautiful expression of the variety’s natural complexity and its vibrant, citrus-forward character.
In the cup, we taste a bright, juicy burst of pomelo that gives way to sweet, sticky stone fruit like a ripe apricot before cooling into a delicate herbal and floral finish reminiscent of chamomile tea. It’s a layered, expressive coffee that continues to open up as it cools, making it an excellent choice for exploring the full depth and nuance of pourover which is our favorite brew method for this coffee.
