ABOUT THIS COFFEE AND PRODUCER

Song Feng estate sits between the Bangdong Snow Mountain and the Lancang River, where morning mists and winter cloud seas slow cherry ripening and build depth of flavor. Led by Zhu Xian’e, the cooperative began planting coffee in 2010, bringing together many smallholder families and steadily improving quality through shared training in pruning, fermentation and drying. Shade trees such as macadamia, camphor, golden nanmu and winter cherry create a rich, eco-friendly micro-climate and natural canopy. The team keeps exploring new processing—from traditional washed to honey and anaerobic methods—highlighting bright fruit acidity and layered floral sweetness.

WHY WE SELECTED THIS COFFEE

We’re super excited to share our second-ever coffee from China, coming from the Songfeng Estate. This offering is a complete contrast to our first—bold, punchy, and a bit more process forward, made for those who love louder fruit expressions and don’t mind a little bit of fermentation.

Processed as an anaerobic natural, this Catimor really turns up the volume on the already impressive quality of green. Expect big notes of red grape and loads of blueberry sweetness, carried by a rich, creamy body that almost reminds us of fruity ice cream. Between all that sweetness is an intriguing herbal layer that's sometimes floral, most reminiscent of lemongrass, possibly a region or varietal quality.

China continues to emerge as an exciting coffee-producing origin, and we’re thrilled to showcase coffees like this that challenge expectations. We hope you have as much fun drinking this one as we do.
